"As long as a man extends idle conversation with a woman he causes himself harm by ignoring words of Torah. And his end is to inherit Genhenna."

Introducing Hinduism (World Religions (Routledge (Firm)).)
By Hillary Rodrigues

well, it has been a while world of xanga
i don't even know how many people read these anymore; but i'll write anyway i guess just in case.

first things first, alayna and i are in macomb. i'm diggin' it so far. i really enjoy going to school and learning about new things.
my spanish class is cool so far, entry level stuff, so it is pretty easy. the surprising thing is how little i remember from high school.
my sociology class is somewhat cool, somewhat not. thus far, the best thing we have discussed is karl marx. it makes me want to read a whole bunch of communist literature, but not enough time.
western religion is awesome. my teacher is super nerd, super smart. he just ramble and rambles, which i know sounds boring, but if you were me you would love it.
eastern religion is also awesome. although at the current moment, i can't say that i am learning too very much yet.
hinduism is my favorite class. it puts me in a good mood and makes me pumped about becoming a professor someday. i figured out that i don't know very much at all about hinduism. it is such a diverse tradition with so many different schools of thought. i won't bore you with them here though...

second things second, not because they are less important things.
i am greatly missing the company of my friends and the playing of music in groups larger than one.
i have been playing guitar as much as i can... i have been playing new greenwood songs quite a bit to try and perfect them and gain new perspectives on each one. i'm sure that my playing of the same 5 or 6 songs over and over is grating on alayna's nerves hahahaha... it is almost annoying me haha.   i just want to get them done, get them recorded, get vocals to them, get some more done/recorded/vocaled...and then release them on VINYL!

anyways.  fun times.   everytime i write in here, i feel stupid at the end and feel like erasing everything... because internet connections are actually people connections.

Amnesiac (2-10" LPs)
By Radiohead
see related
the highlights of my vinyl collection:

pink floyd: meddle, dark side of the moon, obscured by clouds, wish you were here

john mclaughlin:
mahavishnu orchestra: inner mounting flame, birds of fire, visions of the emerald beyond, apocalypse,
       between nothingness and eternity
       shakti
john mclaughlin and carlose santana: love, devotion, surrender

radiohead: ok computer, amnesiac, hail to the thief, in rainbows

yes: close to the edge

i'm so pumped that my radiohead vinyls came today, you all have no idea. no idea.

i keep on waking up in the morning, going to work, eating lunch, working some more, coming home. i feel more and more like a robot every day of my life. i can't wait to become a teacher so i get to learn/talk about religions all day long. actually, i can't wait to go to school at western so i can be a student again.
